## KBM controls, attacking on PC & shift lock

**Gakuran keyboard & mouse (KBM) controls**  
Move with WASD, sprint with Shift, jump with Space, and dash with Q. Left click (M1) is the light attack and R (M2) is the heavy. F blocks or parries, T uses your fighting style, Alt opens the phone, and Ctrl toggles shift lock.

**How to attack on PC**  
Left click (M1) for a chainable light attack and press R (M2) for a heavier hit that cannot be blocked. Tap F just before an enemy's hit to parry, or dash with Q to reposition.

**How to shift lock in Gakuran**  
Press Ctrl to toggle shift lock. It keeps the camera locked behind your character for consistent aim and spacing in PvP.

## Mechanics tied to these inputs

**Posture (stamina)**  
Posture is shared between sprinting and blocking. Blocking hits and running both drain it. Empty posture means a block attempt becomes a guardbreak. Parrying does not use posture — you can parry even at zero posture.

**Block vs. parry**  
Holding F blocks but costs posture and still takes chip damage. Tapping F right before a hit lands is a parry: no damage, no posture loss, and the attacker is stunned for a counter window.

**Heavy attacks (M2)**  
Heavy attacks deal roughly 70% more damage than a single M1 and cannot be blocked. Hold block into an M2 and you will be guardbroken — parry or dash instead.

**Shift lock**  
Without shift lock, your character faces the camera direction, which makes spacing unpredictable in tight fights. Ctrl shift lock keeps your character aligned with movement for consistent hitbox control.

## Dropping items

## Mobile & controller

Mobile uses on-screen touch buttons that mirror PC actions and can be remapped in Settings. Separate attack and block into different thumb zones before serious PvP.

Controller support uses Roblox's default gamepad mapping. The official Controls card does not publish a full controller table — re-check in-game Settings after major updates.

## Common control mistakes

- **Holding block against a heavy attack (M2)** — M2 is unblockable. Parry with timed F or dash with Q instead.
- **Holding block forever** — Each blocked hit drains posture. Mix short blocks with parry reads so you are not guardbroken.
- **Skipping shift lock in PvP** — Press Ctrl before engaging so movement and attacks stay aligned with your camera.
- **Leaving default mobile button layout** — Remap on-screen buttons in Settings — separate block and attack into different thumb zones before serious fights.
