# Parrying / Perfect Blocking

## Guide

_Parrying_ is a timed block right as an attack is about to land. If your timing is inside the **parry window** while facing the attacker, you **perfect block** instead of taking a normal block.

- A parry is **not** a normal block: **no damage, no block chip, no posture loss.**
- **Parrying** _stuns_ your attacker temporarily for **0.45 seconds**, presenting the opportunity to counter and attack them.

**Combat Style Perks** that reward parrying:

- Counterstrike: +5% damage on your next attack after a parry. ([Basic](/guides/JGzGNMSq-basic "‌"), [Ali](/guides/Roh6sIpv-ali "‌"), [Kyokushin Karate](/guides/Furm0NSZ-kyokushin-karate "‌"))
- Perfect Reflex: If M2 on cooldown, parrying reduces remaining cooldown by 1s. ([Boxing](/guides/9zucAqBC-boxing "‌"))
